” Our guest of honor, the keynote speaker, friends, and family, I appreciate you for joining me today to celebrate the launch of my book. I am honored by your presence. It’s much appreciated.
I appreciate God Almighty for making today a reality. I am indebted to everyone that contributed to it. The story of how the idea came to life is a true testament to the power of inspiration and perseverance.
For me, I believe so much in the power of a well-laid plan. This helped me in making the book come out great. For almost two years, have been a night owl, consistently burning the midnight oil. This seems to be very demanding, but it helped me put my thoughts together in the best manner possible. Ultimately, this book is not just about my experiences. It’s about the power of storytelling, sharing interesting insights and innovative strategies 21st-century businesses need to succeed in this digital disruptive era.
It’s a special pleasure to share intro about “The Trove”. It is now over 4 years since the coronavirus outbreak struck the world and its facets. This had a huge impact on the global business space as most businesses had to struggle for survival. Companies were compelled to re-imagine and shield every aspect of the business end to end which made it clear that every 21st-century company must be built on agility, values, and a thriving culture. The level of competitiveness in the global business space is massive. The mantra now is “Disrupt or get disrupted”. I must say, the lesson the Covid era taught is that every nation needs to go smart and digital. Thanks to the Lagos state government and all industry stakeholders for this effort.
No doubt, the current digital disruptive era requires that businesses get very close to their customers. This is called “Customer-Centricity”. Every modern business must be customer-centric. An analogy of this is interestingly cited in “The Trove” using Greg and Alice story.
To build a world-class unicorn company, business leaders need to strive to build their digital strategy around great customer engagement, digitized solutions, operational backbone, and digital service backbone. This means that business leaders must take to heart astute leadership capability, agility, business model innovation, digital investments, and technology convergence. A scenario of Reed Hastings was illustrated in “The Trove”. Pure Software and Netflix had one co-founder in common: Reed Hastings. Hastings approached leadership in two different ways while steering the wheels of both companies at two different times which paved the way for innovation. Business leaders need to be digitally compliant and must strive relentlessly to infuse strategic DNA into the company’s culture. DNA stands for Data, Networks, and Analytics.
